Dear District Governor:

Rotary wants to reconnect with one of its most valuable assets Rotary Foundation alumni and we need your help and commitment.

The Rotary Foundation has produced more than 105,000 alumni since 1947 and most are not Rotarians and have not remained connected to Rotary.

This Rotary year marks the first-ever Rotary Alumni Celebration, a pre-convention meeting with special events, notable speakers, and social gatherings for Foundation alumni and friends to be held Friday, June 13-Saturday, June 14, 2008 as part of the 2008 RI Convention in Los Angeles, California, USA.

Registration for the convention – for alumni within 7 years of program participation – will be offered at a greatly reduced rate of US$60 until 15 December to help encourage more alumni and their guests to attend. This registration price also applies to recent alumni who are Rotarians. Additionally, recent alumni can register to bring one guest at the same rate. Registration for the Rotary Alumni Celebration is an additional US$25 for all participants. For the registration form visit: http://www.rotary.org/RIdocuments/en_pdf/c08_registration_en.pdf .

Please reach out and encourage the alumni in your district to attend this inaugural event and be a part of a unique opportunity to have a voice in how to reconnect with this important group of people. I hope that each Rotary district will send at least one GSE alumnus and one scholar alumnus to Los Angeles; please consider providing district funding for your representatives' travel expenses and lodging. With your assistance my goal of reconnecting with Rotary Foundation alumni can happen in Los Angeles.

Please do not hesitate to contact the Alumni Relations Supervisor at The Rotary Foundation, Jennifer Willbanks, by e-mail at jennifer.willbanks@rotary.org or by phone at +1 (847) 424-5249 for additional information.

Yours sincerely,

Robert S. Scott, Chairman
